Scientists felt that Genetech and Roche's Cancer drug Avastin can help find tumors as well as treat them.The researchers tagged the antibody with radioactive tracer and injected into mice.They find that it successfully targeted cancer cell and this enabled them to produce defined images of tumors during scanning.When compared with images same tumors taken using standard imaging,the Avastin images better and also showed up tumors in earlier stages and at smaller sizes.
