Grasses are one of the many sources of wealth in the world.They provide the bulk of the cereals which form food for man and cattle as well as herbage and dried and fodder for wild and domestic animal.Grasses play and important role of conservation of soil and moisture ,particularly in mountainous regions.Sugarcane and bamboo are also large grasses provide fibre,paper,conservaton of thatching and building materials,essential and edible oils,gums,medicines and many others useful products.They also support the productions of dairy products .such as wool and leather.
